The Crusade of Darkness Dante Explores the Mysteries of Rome

The Florentine poet Dante Alighieri is sent as an ambassador to Rome, a hostile environment full of danger. Just before his departure, a mysterious woman visits him at night. She gives him a papyrus roll that seems to have been written by Virgil, and tells him that this is only a part, the rest is in Rome. In Rome, Dante immediately becomes involved in a series of gruesome crimes: ten women have been murdered in one year. Are they all prostitutes? Then the remains of Pope Joan are found and exhumed. A woman who hid her femininity in 855 and was crowned pope. The body is completely intact, as if it had been buried yesterday, and a bright light shines from the coffin.
