Aisha

Aischa is the sixteen-year-old daughter of Algerian immigrants in Paris. Her parents are strict Muslims and it is a big step for them that Aischa goes to grammar school, because 'a woman does not have to study'. At school, Aischa feels like an outsider and she has difficulty reconciling the differences between home and school. When she falls in love with Kim, a Vietnamese boy, her brothers rather harshly put a stop to the relationship. Not much later, she has to go to Algeria with her father.
