Ca Va Poff
In 1993, on holiday in Niger, Paul Antipoff became completely paralysed by an unknown virus. His first book, The Nostril Perspective, was the oppressive account of his battle with this paralysis. Paul Antipoff survived the impossible. But what now? How do you re-enter normal life when you have completely lost your mobility? How do you pick up the thread again? Antipoff refuses to be "different" from people without a disability. He travels, writes, walks, reads... enjoys life to the fullest. Sometimes tender, sometimes heartbreaking, such is his fight to live independently, in search of independence and freedom. But even normal life does not always bring what he expects. In February 1999, he travels with a film crew to Niger, to the place where he became paralysed. Confrontation with the local population and with himself. Ça va Poff: once again a gripping, non-committal book by a young man with an incredible amount of willpower and drive. An absolute support for people with a physical disability.
