From 1914 to 1918, daily life was completely dominated by the war. Children were not spared either. For example,

On the cover, comics, magazines, and even coloring books showed the war in words and especially in pictures. From child-friendly pictures about brave animals that were deployed
were transformed into gruesome scenes of children bayoneting the enemy during the fighting. Drawings of young children who were themselves executed into heroic images of fighting soldiers. Varied and colorful, these images undoubtedly appealed to the imagination of children.
