Beyond the Cross

11,99 23,00
On the occasion of Brussels All Saints' Day 2006, the art and poetry project Beyond the Cross will take place in the Chapel Church and the Church of Our Lady of Good Help.
Four artists – the German Johannes Wickert and the Belgians Pat De Vylder, Luc Hoenraet and Father Maur – make the unspeakable, the mystery behind things tangible in a contemporary way, based on the theme of the cross. Their artistic vision not only ties in with the essence of the Christian faith, but also has points of contact with the spiritual needs of our time.
The paintings are accompanied by a number of poems by Patrick Lateur, Manu Verhulst, Toon Uyttendaele and Claude van de Berge that express the same train of thought. Image and word breathe the same spirit, convey the same message.
Koenraad De Wolf (°Zottegem, 3 October 1956) studied history and art history at the KU Leuven and published twenty books and dozens of articles from 1982 onwards – together more than 3,500 pages – on local history, architecture and contemporary art. In this book he gives his professional view on the works of art.
