Never before has a terrorist attack had such an impact on daily life as that of 9/11. Air travel in particular became a lot more difficult. Budgets for the fight against terrorism are increasing. Security wants to intercept every possible terrorist. The security industry comes up with a solution for every possible security problem. Passengers queue up with their shoes in their hands at the detector gates or are scanned by body scanners. They are questioned in an intrusive manner about their private lives and anyone suspected of being a terrorist is put on a blacklist without being informed. Anyone who ends up on this list, and that also applies to Belgian passengers, will have a hard time flying in the future. And that's not all. Armed air marshals often travel on flights of American airlines to Belgium, who shoot to kill in conflicts. The mouse has given birth to an elephant.
