Moya de Feyter

A very thin layer

10,99 21,00

A Very Thin Layer is a poetic, philosophical, narrative and personal investigation into light in all its forms: as a natural phenomenon, as a ritual compass, as a counterpart to darkness, as an icon of happiness, as a particle, as a wave. In hundreds of pieces of text, Moya De Feyter tries to approach the light by dancing around it in ever larger detours. Via optics, the gods, death and the knot in which our world has become entangled, past nocturnal animals, wandering planets, mathematical equations, dreams and childhood memories to the cell that bursts open and the sun that even presses itself into our retina via Saturn's rings. Moya De Feyter writes poetry, prose and theatre texts. She made her debut as a poet in 2018 with Tot iemand eerst (Totally Someone). A year later, Massastrandingen was published, which was awarded the JC Bloem Poetry Prize. She often and happily appears on stage and is the founder of the climate poets, a poets' association that is committed to our endangered planet. About Mass Strandings: 'This poetry flows and works hallucinatingly like the song of whales, dreamy, now immersing the reader, then again dragging him along, almost making him a drowning person. [...] a formidable, daring collection.' – Jury report JC Bloem Poetry Prize
