The Lost Army

The year is 401 BC. A warrior on horseback storms into the desert village of the Syrian woman Abira. The warrior, Xeno, is like a young god, full of promises of passion, adventure and strange distances – and Abira leaves everything behind to follow him. She travels with the largest expedition of ten thousand Greek soldiers to Babylonia (modern Iraq) and experiences battles, hardships and Persian cruelty, but also deep friendship and love.
