Winterland
A professional misstep sends Copenhagen Inspector Martin Juncker to a small, boring provincial town. His only challenge: the tensions surrounding the local asylum seekers’ centre. When a bomb explodes in the heart of Copenhagen and Juncker’s former partner Signe Kristiansen is put on the case, he feels completely left out. The investigation is going slowly, until Kristiansen suddenly receives a golden tip. Meanwhile, to Juncker’s great surprise, a murder case lands on his desk. It seems like a robbery gone wrong, but when it turns out that the victim had ties to neo-Nazis, it soon becomes clear that there is a link with Signe’s case. And winter in Copenhagen has only just begun…
Winterland is a brilliant, compelling and well-written thriller about evil, loneliness and powerlessness in contemporary society, and also incredibly exciting.
'Danish duo delivers top thriller.' **** De Telegraaf
'The best thing about Winterland is the credible characters. As is the case with a Scandinavian thriller, melancholy and quiet desperation dominate. But Faber and Pedersen have captured that with a fine pen and a sense of proportion. Top entertainment.' NRC Handelsblad
