In 'The unusual everyday' the author explores a whole range of religious elements and practices. Some are related to the Catholic faith, such as burning candles for a good exam or curing all kinds of ailments with holy water. Others have little or nothing to do with the ecclesiastical atmosphere: the belief in bad luck through black cats, reading the horoscope, having paranormal experiences .... In in-depth conversations with some 70 people, Ann Verlinden investigates to what extent the interviewees believe or do very different things, and why.
