Undercurrent: Handbook for Prayer Part 1

'Onderstroom' is conceived as a manual, as a workbook or activity book on prayer. It consists of chapters of equal length that are structured as a diptych. One section consists of a basic text, a theoretical guideline that is written in a condensed form by a different author each time. The other section consists of a varied range of all kinds of texts: poems, prayers, testimonies, explanatory texts, meditation texts, activity tips, exercises, assignments, songs, images (statue, painting, icon) with commentary, signposts, reading, listening and film tips, Bible quotes. The texts in this second section all closely correspond to words, sentences or paragraphs from the basic text. The references to these texts are provided with reference marks in the basic text. In this way, the basic text is opened up and expanded. The illustrative texts in section two are not incidental or arbitrary. The texts were carefully chosen so that the reader can familiarize themselves with the content of the basic text from different angles.
