Borderlands is set on Pandora, a giant planet where colonists have landed with their ships. These ships have become a kind of town, of which there are seven on the planet. Pandora is a typical frontier area in space. It is dangerous, located in a remote area and everywhere there are nasty creatures that only think about one thing: food. So if you don't have a good reason to visit the area, you better not.
