Pieter is the spitting image of his twin brother Robin, but their characters could not be more different. Robin dares to throw himself fully into new adventures, while Pieter is more of a dreamer. When the brothers go to live in Antwerp, it is Robin who drags his brother along, against the wishes of their parents. In their student rooms, they meet new friends with whom they quickly share joys and sorrows: Tinne, Bart, Nora, Alex and Saartje. Tinne is a fierce lady who does not shy away from speaking her mind. Bart loves parties and having fun, but when his friends need him, he is there for them. The shy Nora sometimes dares to make unexpectedly decisive decisions. Pieter can turn to Alex when he is once again caught up in his own thoughts. And then there is Saartje, who Pieter is a bit afraid of at first, but who always encourages him to come out of his shell and stand up for himself. The bonds between the friends become increasingly stronger. But the relationship between the twin brothers breaks when Pieter feels that Robin sets his sights on the girl he himself is in love with. This book tells the story of Pieter Leirs as a student, fifteen years before the television series Dertigers begins.
