From clinical ethics to biolaw

In the context of the Chair Rector Dhanis (UFSIA, Antwerp), a study group consisting of physicians and nurses, ethicists and lawyers, undertook an interdisciplinary study on 'clinical ethics' and 'how law and politics deal with problems that belong in clinical practice'. In this volume, the ethical thinking in a number of cases concerning neonatal and dementia patients is critically discussed. The advice of the Advisory Committee for Bioethics on sterilization of the mentally handicapped and on cloning is examined for their relevance to clinical practice.
