Only Bear Was Allowed to Come

Trudi lives with her parents, brother and sisters in the Dutch East Indies. She has a wonderful life there, in the house with the large garden by the sea. But that comes to an abrupt end when the Second World War breaks out and the Japanese attack the East Indies. From that moment on, everything changes. The family moves to the city, because it is too dangerous to live so close to the coast. Suddenly, there are Japanese soldiers everywhere on the streets and the Indians also start to act hostile. One day, Trudi's father is arrested, and not much later the rest of the family is forced to leave for a Japanese camp. Will Trudi ever see her father again?
