This book describes art movements from after '45. The rules are outlined and the elements are described, preceded by a sketch of the international history of their origins. Good Belgian examples are then discussed in more detail with numerous illustrations. The sequence of the chapters is not strictly chronological. They reflect aspects of recent art history. The perspectives are diverse: philosophical, art historical, art critical and technical. In this way, an American theory (DBAE) on art education is played on.
