God With Warm Hands

Dewa, a fourteen-year-old beggar, lives with his family in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. He is poor but resourceful and charming. He wins the heart of Frieda, who is traveling alone. Dewa becomes her guide and he shows her the most beautiful places in the city. Dewa and Frieda need each other: without her shrewd guide, the woman gets lost in the dizzying hustle and bustle of the big city and thanks to Frieda, Dewa and his brothers get a meal every day. Dewa gets access to places where he would otherwise not be welcome: the hotel, the zoo and the temple where he meets Kumari, a six-year-old goddess. A moving youth novel in which great emotions such as power, freedom and love are woven into a travel story full of scents and colors.
