Do you have a photo sir? 100 unique Tour portraits

The Tour de France celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2013. Despite all the doping scandals, the sport of cycling with the curved handlebars remains popular and very imaginative.
In the sixties of the previous century, Louis Bovée became fascinated by cycling. His main attention was of course on the Tour de France. He listened to the denouement of the stages on the radio, cut out the newspaper reports and sat on the edge of his seat during the summaries on the black and white television. The cyclists in the Netherlands, Belgium and France were listed with their addresses in the telephone book, an ideal opportunity to write to his heroes for a photo with signature.
Almost everyone responded quickly, which allowed Louis to build up a unique collection of handout photos. Letters from Jan Janssen, Joop Zoetemelk and Rini Wagtmans, who would later become his bosom friend, slid through the letterbox of his parents' home, as did those from Jacques Anquetil, Roger Pingeon, Herman van Springel and Tom Simpson, among others.
This book shows 100 photos of legendary riders from the 1960s to the 1970s, with personal memories of these riders who have one thing in common: they all started in the Tour de France.
