My Royal Lover
Professor Herman Somers, a renowned historian at the University of Leuven, and his son Matthias, a forensic pathologist, have a shared hobby: writing crime novels. Under the pseudonym Veronika Winter, they publish a successful police series with the idiosyncratic commissioner Perceval in the lead role. When Somers investigates the mysterious death of King Albert I eighty years ago for a new book, he meets a stunningly beautiful but mysterious woman in Berlin. However, the more his work progresses, the more demons from the past he seems to reawaken. Somers is even threatened with death and has to flee. Until that mysterious woman reappears, turns his whole life upside down and nothing is as it seems. Willy Bogaerts (1947) worked in the banking sector and is now an independent entrepreneur. Together with his son Steven, he forms the writing duo Bogaerts, known for their series of crime novels about commissioner Bottu, which alternately take place in Leuven and on the Belgian coast. My Royal Lover is his first book in which he mixes the reality of a sensational judicial investigation and a fictional action into an intriguing whole. More info: www.bogaerts.info
