And that is not the only thing that makes a reappearance in her life or bounces back. While Luc De Reu is trying to find out who Caz's father is in Belgium, the extremist rebel group AALHA is hatching an unscrupulous plot to track down the nkísi and its contents. This time, however, Caz is not their only target and the extremists are not her only enemy. In Offerlam, part 2 of the Offer diptych, Caz learned that she had been sacrificed by others to serve their purposes. In Offerande she has to lay herself on the altar.
