War child

Young Hanno Dietz tries to survive with his mother and sister in bombed Hamburg shortly after the Second World War. Hewing stones, collecting firewood and scrap metal from the rubble, trading found items on the black market - it is his daily existence.

But one day he finds a dead woman among the rubble. And right next to her a little boy of about three, in remarkably neat clothes. The child doesn't speak, and there is no one who belongs to him. Hanno takes him with him and the boy will eventually grow up in the Dietz family.

Years later, this orphan from the rubble finds himself on the trail of a crime with ties to his real family...
