Back to Hiroshima
Japan, 1995. The economic bubble has burst, the country is in the worst economic crisis since World War II.
In Hiroshima, fate brings a number of people together in a confrontation that has dramatic consequences. The West Flemish diplomat's son Xavier Douterloigne returns to the 'City of Peace' to come to terms with the death of his sister Anna. Inspector Takeda finds a deformed, dead baby under the Peace Monument, a reminder of the city's war past. A yakuza leader, who is said to be the incarnation of the Japanese demon Rokurobei, mercilessly defends his criminal empire against his daughter Mitsuko. The punk author Yori, possessed by the ultra-nationalist ideals of his idol Mishima, will stop at nothing to be able to write the novel he dreams of.
Hiroshima's indelible past plays a sinister role. The experiments of the Japanese secret Unit 731 during World War II leave a dark stain on the imperial family.
