Women in Christianity

In Christianity, women often occupy a subordinate position. Consider the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church on the priesthood, abortion, contraception and the place of women in marriage. The church appeals to 2000 years of tradition, but Hans Küng demonstrates from church history that this teaching is incorrect. For example, Jesus himself had prominent female disciples. Küng advocates the rehabilitation of women in the church.
