Wings

Fifteen-year-old Laurel lives in the countryside with her hippie parents, who teach her out of conviction. When she moves to the city to go to high school, this requires a serious adjustment. She misses her home terribly, although she is doing well at school and becomes good friends with David, a handsome boy from her class who supports and understands her. Until Laurel notices that she is - literally - growing wings. She does not dare to confide in her parents and goes on a quest with David to find out about her origins. That is how she discovers that she was a foundling. Her world is completely shaken up when she meets the elf Tamani on her way home one day.
