That's how things go
Two sisters, Patty, twenty, and Mado, fifteen, live together in an apartment in Paris.
The death of their parents nine months ago has brought them closer together, but they remain a somewhat unhappy couple: Patty is a party animal, cheerful and carefree, who works as a waitress in a bar (when she is not in bed with a hangover). Mado, the youngest, is a serious and introverted girl, who does her very best at school. It is Mado who ensures that their household continues to run and that the family guardian, who keeps a close eye on them, remains satisfied. They manage just about as a couple, until it turns out that Patty is pregnant...
In this book, Anne-Laure Bondoux develops ancient and heavy themes such as 'life is stronger than death' and 'love conquers all' in a very special way — the tone never becomes sentimental, but is funny and moving at the same time.
