The world we dreamed of: Seven classmates look back and ahead
In the early seventies, seven students went to study Political and Social Sciences at the Ufsia in Antwerp. Their education with the Jesuits would determine their further lives and each of them would play an important social role. Almost fifty years later, former Wetstraat journalist Marc Van de Looverbosch sought out his classmates again. How do they look back? What has become of the world they dreamed of? And what future do they wish for the young people of today?
For this book, Marc Van de Looverbosch spoke with Bea Cantillon, professor and poverty specialist; Bernard Bulcke, journalist and former spokesperson for Karel De Gucht; Guy Van Habberney, political-economic advisor to the American embassy; Johan Van Hecke, former chairman of the CVP and former EU parliamentarian for Open VLD; Mieke Vogels, former Minister of Welfare and former party chairman of Groen; Patrick Janssens, former party chairman of the SP.A and former mayor of Antwerp.
