Southern France, at the beginning of the sixteenth century: the young Michel de Nostredame is an ambitious and promising medical student. Together with his childhood friend François Rabelais, he is preparing to fight the plague. He is still unaware of the impressive career that will bring him into contact with the most picturesque personalities of his time. But however successful he may become as a doctor and scholar, his life course is determined by his prophetic gift. His hunger for knowledge takes him from the court of the Medici to that of the French king Charles IX. During his travels he comes into contact with influential people, whose plots and intrigues almost prove fatal to him…
