The Day My Daughter Went Crazy

At the age of fifteen, Sally, the daughter of Michael Greenberg, is struck by an acute psychosis. She has the most terrible hallucinations: she imagines herself to be God, screams and kicks around, and seems unreachable. From one moment to the next, father and daughter are strangers to each other. Sally is admitted to a psychiatric hospital.

Michael Greenberg desperately searches for possible causes of Sally's madness. Could he have prevented her psychosis? To what extent is the disease hereditary? How can he best deal with her unpredictable behavior? And what does he see for his daughter's future? Only through strict medication and intensive therapies will she lead a reasonably normal but vulnerable life.
