Michael Van Peel (16 September 1978) is an Antwerp comedian. He made his debut in 2005, encouraged by comedian Nigel Williams. Since then, he has been in the finals of the 123 Comedy Award and the stand-up competition of the Amsterdam Kleinkunst Festival. In November 2007, he won both the jury and audience prize of the Culture Comedy Award. He has already performed at the Ghent Festivities and at the Ostend Theater Aan Zee. He also performed as part of the supporting programme of Philippe Geubels. In 2009, he won the cabaret festival Humorologie and at the end of the year he made his first New Year's Eve conference. On TV, he performed a few times in Comedy Casino. Captions of his end-of-year conferences Van Peel Overleeft 2012, Van Peel Overleeft 2013 and Van Peel Overleeft 2014 were recorded in the Antwerp Arenbergschouwburg and broadcast on Canvas. His comic style is characterized by a high density of jokes with jokes that are mainly based on the current events of the past year. Each of his shows is also concluded by the song Ik overleef, an adaptation of I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor. He is the brother of N-VA politician Valerie Van Peel.
