The Last Witness: How I Survived Breendonk and Buchenwald

At the age of 19, Louis Boeckmans from Tessenderlo joined the resistance. After he was denounced, Louis was severely tortured in the SS camp of Breendonk. That turned out to be just the prelude to the inhumane conditions he had to endure in the concentration camps of Buchenwald and Dora. Nevertheless, Louis survived the Second World War. Of the thousands of men and women who ended up in a concentration camp via Breendonk, he is the only one who can still testify.
