Gods and Myths of the Romans

It is often claimed that the Romans had no myths. If by myths is meant stories handed down about divine beings, historical events or natural phenomena, then that seems to be true at first glance. However, it is unlikely that among the first inhabitants of Latium, unlike other peoples, no stories would have originated. The traces of original myths, which were absorbed by the Greek literary tradition and changed almost beyond recognition.
