It seems as if a dark force has taken hold of the city. The number of murders and disappearances has increased dramatically in a few months, and a few obscure figures have also started to appear at Maikel's school. Who is the mysterious Johanna who keeps so aloof? Why does the new history teacher only tell horror stories from the 19th century? And why is everyone becoming so quickly addicted to that new computer game? Before they know it, Maikel and his friends end up in the underbelly of Brussels, where they have to do battle with an unprecedented army of supernatural creatures.
