The enterprising organization: Every employee has an entrepreneur inside them
'Disruptive innovation' is a term that is increasingly used in management environments. It describes how small start-ups with few resources still manage to compete successfully with established values. Although disruption has always existed, technological progress ensures that start-ups 'disrupt' at an unprecedented speed. In order to stay afloat in these disruptive times, organizations need to be 'entrepreneurial'. In 'entrepreneurial organizations', the individual entrepreneurial behavior of employees is aligned with an entrepreneurial corporate culture. Organizations are social living systems, which makes the individual employees of crucial importance. However, the hypothesis that involved employees automatically display entrepreneurial behavior needs to be nuanced. This book therefore argues for incorporating individual entrepreneurial behavior as an important autonomous concept in the corporate strategy. The entrepreneurial organization provides design strategies that both stimulate the effective individual entrepreneurial behavior of employees and support the design of an entrepreneurial corporate culture. The book is intended for students, teachers and managers from the private and public sectors.
