Stand-In

Immigrant Jarek Simitz, former boxer and Olympic weightlifting champion, worked his way up as Jack Storm in the silent films of Hollywood in the twenties to become an actor in B-westerns, like his colleagues Tom Tyler and Bob Steele. With the advent of the sound film, Jack's heavy accent starts to play tricks on him. Without a job, without money and without self-esteem, Jack, sick with arthritis, decides to end it all. He comes up with a plan to let his family profit from his death. But then things go wrong and one unexpected twist follows another.
