SPSS in research: SPSS manual with basic principles and practical tips
The aim of this manual is to provide a quick and thorough introduction to working with SPSS. Using real data that are freely available, an insight is given into elementary and more advanced components of SPSS. Examples are taken from daily research practice and are aimed at working with the SPSS menus, but also with the SPSS syntax. In an accessible style, the place of SPSS in the various phases of research is discussed (data entry, data processing and analysis). The following elements are discussed: getting acquainted with SPSS for the first time; converting your own questionnaire into an SPSS data file; converting an external data file to the SPSS format; cleaning data files, defining variables and preparing them for analysis; creating and interpreting tables; requesting univariate key figures; viewing bivariate association measures; creating professional graphs.
