returns with her father to the Argentine city of Buenos Aires where she was born. There she falls madly in love with Tomas (or does she actually prefer Leon?). Violetta is a teenage girl who is unaware that she can sing incredibly well. She inherited this talent from her mother, a famous singer who died in a tragic accident when Violetta was very young.
Herman, her father, is an extremely successful man who adores his daughter, but is also very strict and overprotective. In his desperate grief, he decides to keep her mother's past and fate from Violetta, afraid that she will follow in her footsteps.

After the accident, the two move to Madrid and he raises her alone, virtually cut off from other children her age.
Herman knows that Violetta is a very talented musician and encourages her to take piano lessons, but he does not want her to sing or act. Everything changes when they return to Buenos Aires, the city where they originally come from. Violetta starts piano lessons there at 'Studio 21', a prestigious music school. There she meets Angie, her new teacher and governess, who helps her discover her talent. She also meets other people who guide her during the learning process.
