Algiz - a decade in Flanders 1119-1129

Through the adventures of two young men (one historical, one fictional) the daily life is depicted in its various facets during the reign of the Viking son, Charles of Denmark, who refused the king's and emperor's crown to remain Count of Flanders at a pivotal moment in his history. In literary terms, a hero emerged from his personality, who still lives on today, after 900 years, in 'The Red Knight' stories. The title refers to the Old Germanic myth that states that in moments of crisis, out of brotherly love, a hero will always be born to show a community the right way to live in his actions.
