The Morse Code: When Silence Whispers
When Professor Morse learns through a courier that his wife is seriously ill, he rushes home, but there he can only confirm her death. This spurs him on to develop the Morse code, so that communication can be faster in the future. At the same time in Russia, a young girl, Irina Ivanov, suffers from a mysterious illness that prevents her from communicating. Mother Ivanov wants to have her daughter portrayed before it is too late. In a café in Le Havre, the stories intertwine. A world discovery sets the communication in motion. But then fate strikes. There are guilty and innocent people. Can the code bring liberation? Nathalie Briessinck (1981) studied Romance philology and writes poetry and short stories. She won the Concours de la Francophonie with the poem 'Que fait-on s'il n'y a plus rien? On s'efface du monde'. She previously published the novel Tot de duivel het schip keert, which was also successfully adapted for the stage.
