The Munich Syndrome

1945. Benjamin Gotlieb is a lieutenant in the American army. He takes part in the liberation of Munich and Dachau. During the siege he finds a secret safe rather by chance.

More than sixty years later, Jacob Kaufmann is murdered in the basement of his Brussels apartment. He was the son of a Jewish girl who had to work in a German brothel during World War II. He has no family and few friends.

Stijn Goris and his team are puzzled. Kaufmann appears to have led multiple lives, but he had no real enemies. Why did Kaufmann have to die? What was his task in the Jewish archive?
