On a cold winter's night, a worried neighbor knocks on a house by the remote fjord of Hvalfjörđur. He has not seen or heard from the family living there for over a week, and phone calls go unanswered. His fears are realized when he knows the door is open. to open and find a gruesome scene inside.
Policeman Týr and forensic pathologist Idunn lead the investigation into the murder of the family members, where it soon becomes clear that the family carried terrible secrets.
