My Birds

Albert Beintema Has been watching birds for over fifty years, both in his spare time and at work. As a scientific collaborator at the National Institute for Nature Management, the Institute for Forest and Nature Research and Alterra, Nature Research and Alterra, he spent over thirty years on bird research, ranging from redshanks in the Netherlands and black-tailed godwits in Africa to penguins at the South Pole. In My Birds, Beintema records his experiences: from the shelducks on Schiermonnikoog to birds in the tropical rainforest, from the sparrows in his backyard to rare native species on exotic, far-off islands.
