Poesia Divina: The Kempen Psalm Book

Musica Divina is the autumn festival of Festival van Vlaanderen Kempen. In 2021 it will take place in abbeys, churches and beguinages of Geel, Herentals, Turnhout, Hoogstraten, Heist-op-den-Berg, Lier, Postel, Averbode and Tongerlo. The festival is a distinctly Kempen story. A story full of heavenly music. From 2017 to 2020, a poetry section was linked to Musica Divina: Poesia Divina. Each festival edition, nine poets were asked to write a psalm based on the festival motto. No easy task, because what is a psalm - a sung prayer - at the beginning of the 21st century? The sung prayers come from, among others, JANA ARNS, AMINA BELÔRF, PAUL DEMETS, LOTTE DODION, LIES VAN GASSE, LUUK GRUWEZ, GEERT VAN ISTENDAEL, RUTH LASTERS, DELPHINE LECOMPTE, LISETTE MA NEZA, SYLVIE MARIE, CARMIEN MICHELS, ELS MOORS, GAEA SCHOETERS, LUCIENNE STASSAERT, BART STOUTEN, JEROEN THEUNISSEN, DAVID TROCH and SOFIE VERDOODT.
