Key to Happiness
Ruby, where is your mother?' As soon as a social worker asks Ruby that question, she knows she is in trouble. Ruby lives alone in the yellow house and the days until she turns eighteen and is finally allowed to live on her own. She had absolutely no intention of being reunited with her sister Cora, who left home ten years ago. She therefore does not want to move in with her and her husband, a wealthy entrepreneur. Ruby's life changes completely: she lives in a huge house, goes to a private school, wears new clothes and her future looks bright. Why is she so cautious and does she not dare to confide in anyone? Ruby has left her old life behind, but how does she fit into this new world? Only Nate, the friendly boy next door, seems to understand how she feels, probably because he has some secrets of his own.
