Sports heroes with a disability: special portraits of G-athletes
The book 'Sports heroes with a disability' portrays 40 athletes with a disability. 40 athletes who all play sports with passion and with a disability. After all, people often look at the disability that people have: visually impaired, deaf, Down syndrome, a prosthesis or a psychiatric disability... but why don't they see that they too can just play sports like you and me?
The book 'Sporthelden met eenbeperking' is a publication of the G-sportfonds of the province of Antwerp, a fund that wants to give athletes with a disability every sporting opportunity. It was created thanks to former top footballer Piet den Boer and photographer Henk van Cauwenbergh. All proceeds from the book go entirely to the G-sportfonds, which supports sports clubs with a G-operation.
